Sat. was the
beginning of
Nampa's Snake River Stampede (week long rodeo). Obviously we cannot afford to attend the rodeo - although I would really have liked to; I haven't been to a rodeo since Andi was a baby :( Scott, however, had a booth at the children's fair and Stampede for the Cure. Here is my good husband, David (
Meighan's husband), Riley and Grandma seeking shade in Scott's booth! The kids and I have attended the kid's fair in the past (usually in the morning after the 5K and during the pancake breakfast). We had lots of fun in the past and there were tons of fun, free activities for the kids. So, I assumed it would be the same and I invited
Meighan and her family. Sadly it was not the usual affair and
everyone agreed it was pretty lame - another sign of the dreadful economy!

Here is Andi riding the electronic bull!! She is my brave little thing and hung on like a trooper. That is just how Andi does things - hangs on fiercely and doesn't back down (often frustrating for her parents but a good trait over all).

More bull riding!!

Here we have calf roping - tried hard but we are not gifted cowboys at my house!

Here is Craig giving it a whirl. He proved a bit more adept at calf roping but took one look at the mechanical bull and backed safely away (he is a bit more like his mom; strong self preservation instincts). There was some face painting, a cupcake walk, cotton candy, and a stick horse rodeo but overall not the event we were used to. It was really nice to spend the afternoon/evening with my sister though :) We went back to my house to play in the cool pool (it was really hot at the children's fair and the water felt wonderful!!!) and then had dinner. Love you
Meighan!!!
Looks like Andi gave you a bit of a rodeo experience anyway! :) Loved that bit.
